Geez man, just go to a drugstore and ask the pharmacist if you can buy a few bottles in whatever size you want. They also have pill dispensers with multiple compartments (sunday, monday, ...) for people taking daily meds. Those things cost about a buck each and you could use them for 7 different kinds of pills instead of 7 days worth. They come in different sizes, the smallest about the size of a candy bar with 7 compartments each capable of holding three or four medium sized pills.

I have the bottle Farmer is referring to and it works very well for a limited amount of meds. I use it every day. And the weekly pill box mentioned is good, too. The only problem with those is that the hinge lids can wear so the spring open when you don't want them to, spilling the contents. Of course, there may be all qualities of them that make that less likely to happen. I have had them dump in shaving kits, though.

Tylenol makes a tube for their 10 caplet sample packs that is about 5/8" wide by 2 1/2". As it's packaged, it is about half full. You can get 6 generic Aleve, 4 of the Tylenol, 6 Ibuprofen, and still have room left.
I haven't tested them for water resistance but I usually tape the top w/ electrical tape
They are also a good size for carrying a spare CR123.

I've either recycled 50 ct ibuprofren/acetaminophen bottles, old film containers, or old carmex lip balm containers. When I ain't feeling good (like now), I can go through the meds pretty quickly. I do mix&match in the bigger containers I tote, but I haven't ever forgot what pill was what.
The only script I carry on a regular basis is my hayfever pills (in this case Allegra-Ds). I get a supply of them in one or two dose blister packs from my doc when I go in every year to renew the script. They are handy to keep around. I also carry my immodium and my pepto pills in blister packs that are split like that, and anything else I can find packaged like that. Since my edc is a shoulder bag, my first aid is a little more flexible than most.

How small you want to go? Look here in my EDC if you like those I can send you some. All way on the right in a green pouch, two tubes with yellow tops. http://brunerdog.tripod.com/images/edc19.jpg

Yeah, what paulr said. Heck, unless it's for quite a few I usually give 'em away.
And when helping someone about to undergo a colonoscopy by supplying him/her with a 2-ounce bottle marked at the 45mL mark to measure 2 doses of Fleet's Phospho-Soda, I ALWAYS give it away...I figure they're in for a rough ride, I may as well help where I can! <img src="/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
So yeah, a pharmacy is quick easy and generally CHEAP potential source of pill bottles, ointment jars, and liquid bottles (but NOT leak-proof as we've learned the HARD way more than once!) <img src="/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

Visit your local Old Folks Home , you'll walk out with armloads of bottles of all shapes & sizes, from large vitamin bottles to tiny pill bottles. I like the 35mm film canisters, camera shops love giving them away ...
