Huh ... I took my Squirt as carry-on last Saturday out of LaGuardia and back on the plane yesterday out of Bush Intercontinental, and neither time did the TSA even pause in letting me & my bags through the X-ray machine/security check. Granted, it's a shorter blade than a standard SAK, but it's still a blade....

That is good news, but I still don't know what the new rules are. One article says one thing and another article says something else.
  Color me confused. <img src="/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Which one? P4 or S4? If it's the one with the scissors, maybe They saw the scissor blade silouette and decided it was a pair of travel scissors or something. Or could have just plain missed it, that time.

Craig, here are some tips:
Your cigar cutter, corkscrew, eyelash curler, toy transformer robots& prosthetic device tools and appliances are all allowed.
But you're SOOL for your knife collection, ice axe, meat cleavers, sabres & swords. <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Safety razors are okay. Aren't those the razors that contain a very sharp, double-bladed razor? Sure it INCLUDES disposables, but..... but.....
And don't forget: the TSA people are still the same dweebs that were working there pre-9/11. Lots of them were stupid then, and they haven't changed. One might pass everything you've got, the next could confiscate everything you've got.

The truly scary part for me is that toy weapons are allowed. Yeesh. When I was a kid playing with capguns, you KNEW they were toys. It was obvious. Now they look bloody realistic. That's a bit frightening.
