I know some times the P-38 can open up and become a hazard to clothing, gear, and the unsuspecting hand reaching for the keys. Well I have the solution (well my friend came up with the solution) the rubber bands used by braces wearers are perfect. The rubber bands are small and come in a several sizes. They seem different than regular rubber bands; they are less pores and have fewer imperfections that create weak points. My friend edc's a p-38 on her keys and the rubber band has been on there for 10 weeks now. I do not know if drug store carry them, but my friend has braces and can get all she wants from her dentist. So if you know some one with braces you can probably get a dozen or so from them.

Hope this is helpful! <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Another good idea that I heard of is to use heat-shrink tubing. It's available at most hardware and electronics supply stores. Just cut it to the appropriate length, slip it over the P38 and heat with a hair dryer.
