I guess I am one of those odd folks <img src="/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> that prefers diversity in my items that use batteries. While most of the flashlights, etc. use either AA or CR123s, I have a full range of items that use almost all of the different battery sizes. I figure if I need to get batteries (I keep a fair amount of stock on hand), I should be able to find at least one store out there with at least some type of battery, that I can use.

This reply is a bit off-topic, but try plugging "techno-geek" into a Google search. You get all sorts of interesting hits.

I've sort of standardized too. I basically always have two of something, two knives, a spare key and normal key, whatever so I settled on two types of batteries. Currently I've standardized to AAA and AA and the majority of my gear all fits this standard except for a couple things like smoke detectors that take 9v or the key fob that takes tose tiny lithuim batteries and cell phone which takes its own. This makes it easy to keep plenty of spares in stock, don't have to buy a bunch of different types, just buy a bulk pack of one or two types.

I carry a ton of AA (GPS, Sight & Radio) and CR123 (Strobe, Surefire L2, & Surefire Weaponlight) and a few AAA (LED Headlamp) I also have a couple 2302s for my watch and a few other goodies.

I still plan of switching to all AA when it is practicle, but I doubt it will be anytime soon that I rid myself of the CR123...
