Yep, these look a lot like the Coughlan's brand orange match cases, or the orange ones at Wally World for $0.97. The only trouble I see with buying the green version from CountyComm is what if you drop it on a hike? Hard to locate.

Just for the heck of it I pulled the tiny compass from a Brunton watch band compass and glued it inside the cap of mine. Works well. Also cut a round piece of skateboard/tread tape and put it on the outside of the cap for a striking surface.

I will always carry a lighter and spark-lite as a backup, though. And I've been eyeballing those Magfires, as well as the nice K&M cases. I guess those would be good Christmas presents to myself. <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
