There has been talk on here about saving critical personal information and carrying it with you. At least with this you have some limited cutting, prying, writing and light source. Nice idea, but could be beefed up. $110 for the cost of the 1.0GB version, like you said, is probably better spent on seperate tools, like a multi-tool, USB flash drive and and those little pen lights with the thumb button. They're mentioned on here all the time, I just can't think of the name.

As for the USB flashdrive, there is no mention on whether you can reorder it if it ever fails. I had purchased a NOMAD MUVO 128 (albeit 2 years ago), and within 6 months, it didn't work anymore. So, kind of distrusting of my USB flash drivers and SD cards.
