Can anyone help recommend to me three or four survival pack items that have several different uses, some not being all that obvious? For example, bandanas on this site are listed several times. What else can have many uses, all not obvious? Someone mentioned that a condom is a great water storage device - jhas anyone used them for this? If you can forward items and uses that would be great! Thanks for your help!

We had an exaustive field test of condoms some time ago. It is in Doug's article on water. Multiple use items? Candles; light,heat, wax for field sewing, expedient waterproofing and chapstick.

Nails; sewing awls, improvised fishhooks and small game barbs for spears, dedicated use for securing gaff hooks to handles, improvised ice cleats.
