In my experience with my personal survival kit i have also used tubing for water seeps and such. In my experience I have found it better to use a elastic piece of tubing like the tubing found on a sling shot as this may serve in more than just one use. Being that this martial is so strong i wrap it around my kit to keep it shut.

Let me know what you think?

Wrapping tubing , ranger bands or paracord also have the happy effect of creating a friction fit in the carry pocket. All things can wear down, even mountains. Just keep an eye on the tubing .
