As one Midwesterner to another, welcome!
My original post was written just after I read "Another Senseless Tragedy" and I was mad. Mad that people, in general, have gotten so complacent in their everyday lives. And I happened to notice at that time that there were 3 registered users on the board and about 30 anonymous users. I thought, "why don't they start talking and get involved?"
No, my post wasn't tongue in cheek and it wasn't elitest (if you're not going to post to the forum, just get out!) But I don't want to brow beat anyone into signing up and posting either. Too many times, silence implies agreement, whether you actually agree with something or not.
I do know, as another esteemed ETSer said, that people will join in their own time. I've just dealt with too many people that felt like they didn't have any power, didn't have any choice. I am saying that people that find their way here have a voice, and the more people that use that voice, then the more all of us learn, and the more all of us grow and get better at doing what we do and that spreads to our friends and families and communities and pretty soon, we're all holding hands and singing and...
I think you get the point <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
And don't be so sure that you don't have something to contribute! What are your questions? What do you do to prepare? What would you like to do?
We ALL have something to say (I can't seem to shut up sometimes! ) <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
