I added some pockets to an Eagle Tiger Stripe canteen cover, to add survival kit components. I then made a pouch for the shoulder strap (it hangs on my back) which holds a Heavy Dutey Space Blanket rolled tightly. Might give you some ideas. Hopefully, here are some photos.
