Besides Nomad, has anyone else recently deployed with Red Cross to Katrina? I may have a question or two.

Daughter and I will deploy on or after the 18th. Would have gone earlier, but I'm in the middle of budget submittal and several other time sensitive things at work, so I've had to delay going until then.

No idea what I'll be doing until I get there. If it looks on Groo's ETS map as if I'll be close to one of y'all, I'll try to send a PM before I go.

TIA,

Tom

Got called a bit ago - we're off to Wilma. Will post when I return if we see anything of interest, but the best perspective on Wilma will probably be from you folks who live there.

I was there with DMAT, not Red Cross, but I may be able to answer some questions.

Please keep in mind that there is a huge difference between FEMA bureaucrats and FEMA workers. There are a lot of FEMA workers on the ground helping save lives, and were on the ground as early as two days before Katrina hit land.
