Hello.

Have you tried to use a Camelbak with the Maxpedition Falcon I backpack?

I’ve tried it and this is the problems that I’ve found:

1 – The Falcon backpack has a pocket made for a 70 oz. hydration system. I’ve used the 70 oz. Camelback Unbottle, but the Camelbak is bigger than Falcon’s pocket and exceeds his length.

2 – When you get full of water the Camelbak it takes a cylindrical shape. The pocket where the Camelbak fits in the Falcon is the nearest to your back, and the feeling is the same as if you are carrying a 5 inch diameter pipe over you backbone, making the backpack uncomfortable.

Maybe using a flat and rigid surface between the camelback and my own back, the feeling will be better, but I haven’t tried it by now.

Have you any suggestions?

I've got a Maxpedition Condor and noticed the same thing. The hydration pocket, while pretty good-sized, has trouble fitting my Camelbak 70oz. Unbottle. It will however fit in the main body of the pack.

Wearing the pack with the Unbottle in the hydration pocket also gives me the feeling of having a waterbed on my back.

I think Maxpedition has come out with newer 2nd-generation packs of the Falcon and Condor, but I'm not sure if those have been adjusted for a better fit for the Camelbaks.
