All of us are probably familiar with the Nalgene bottle, but how many of us know about thier lab supply line?

I just got four of thier half liter, square lab bottle with caps, and I'm impressed. Not as thick walled as the regualr water bottles, but they are square, so they make better use of pack space. Definantly won't be replacing the normal round guys, but suplimenting, you bet. And it is all food/medical grade material, so you are fine. They seem to be water tight- the one full of iced green tea that has been sitting on it's cap for an hour hasn't leaked yet, and I'm thirsty, so I'm going to end the test after I finish telling ya'll about it.

Oh, and look on eBay for them. There is someone who is selling boxes of four for 20 bucks, that includes shipping. Normally, they cost a lot more than that.

Yah, last time I bought bottles, I got a case from labsafety.com. :-) Unfortunately, they don't make the style I prefer anymore (as far as I can tell). It was the heavy duty wide mouth bottles with the "ribbed" tops.

Nalgene makes a lot more stuff than most people know about. Several years ago I lived in a little “cabin” on a lake that was less than bug resistant (was next to impossible to heat too) and I used several Nalgene products to keep the bugs out of my foodstuff. I found a supply of ½ gallon and 1 gallon Nalgene jugs with a 4 inch screw on lids that are not only bug tight but are water tight as well.

Speaking of Nalgene stuff the new sipper inserts for their 1 liter bottles I think work a lot better if you modify them by drilling a hole opposite the drinking opening to let them vent as you drink. Mileage may vary on this but they are much improved IMO.

Oh does anyone know if they still make their fuel bottles? I have not seen them in a while and am just wondering.

I've been testing a few of the 4ml screw top vials for water purification tabs - so far, no obvious degradation of the tabs or vials after about 4 months (tabs are still that dark grey color).

I've got a bunch of the small vials - 4ml - 30ml for storing various meds, solutions, etc... & I store my FAK betadine in a 2 oz bottle.
