Hi
Looking for a nice belt clip on holster to hold a cell phone, flashlight and leatherman tool.
I have seen the Nite Ize, but would like one that is a little more rugged.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

How big is your cell? If it is tiny, say about the same size as your multitool, and your flash is a shorter one, I'll share my idea.
I carry my Leatherman (with a Pocketwrench behind it) and my Streamlight Twintask L1 in a pistol mag pouch from High Speed Gear, Inc. Velcro and fastex on each lid, it isn't opening, and it is built better than the Pock-itz. They make a three-cell version as well. I went through skdtac.com for mine, and optactical.com carries them. I think lightfighter.com might as well, but forget trying to order from HSGI directly.
That being said, it LOOKS like a pistol magazine pouch to anyone who has a clue. If you want something a little softer, and/or your light and cell don't fit, the smaller belt pouches from Maxpedition are very highly thought of.

I use a surplus pistol belt (metal buckles) with a couple of ammo pouches. It's not real convenient, though. I've been looking at http://podbelt.com/buypod.htmlwhich is similar but has more choices on the holsters. See if that floats your boat. Phil

Here is the back side. The three snap on loops are easy on/off and the design allows the whole thing to wrap comfortably around my side. Because cell phones change so fast I would be tempted to make a sort of generic phone compartment, or set up a platform with a "snap on" cell case that could be remade as you rid yourself of those evil devices.

nice system, but you end up looking like a cop or security guard, that wouldn't work for most

This is my CERT kit, not daily wear. But since I always wear a vest this would be covered to avoid the cop or guard syndrome.
I cannot think of a good way to carry a phone, light and leatherman that would not need some sort of cover attire, unless a small leather zip case was used. Again I would have one made custom to have a divider set or band set inside to keep the various bits in place.
My daily belt has a radio, knife, battery case, and leatherman all in separate sheaths or carriers which works but again must be covered with the vest to look "normal".

Check the BBC line of products at www.bagdepot.comI've bought cell phone, flashlight and mutli-tool holsters from them. Excellent quality and made in the US.

LM,
I bought this nearly 5 years ago from Dix. I am going to guess it was between $100-150, but I cannot remember. It was a modification to his triple offerings so totally custom. His leatherwork is superb and his attention to detail excellent. You can see if you look closely that he has added a stiffner at the base of the surefire so that the light cannot be activated by sitting on a seatbelt bracket or the like. The battery case was totally his design, I was expecting something like a dump pouch but this is really super.
As noted, a belt case like this would be sort of hard to wear daily but I did so for about a year until I moved to a lighter surefire and a Juice. The all-purpose Filson vest as cover.
I did not look through the Dix leather site that I linked above, but give him a call or an email to see if he can do something similar and for the prices.

Have you checked out Maxpedition ? The M-2 or H-3 might be a good choice.

I did not look through the Dix leather site that I linked above, but give him a call or an email to see if he can do something similar and for the prices. AFAIK, Dix leatherworks are out-of-business. I ordered a combo sheath last year and sent him the money. Then Rick "disappeared" for some time ; after a few weeks/months, he came back online, only to disappear again, for good that time. I never heard of him again ; never received my combo sheath neither.... Too bad... he seemed quite good at leathercraft..

Thanks for all the great suggestions, some very nice carry items. I had someone email this and I would like to find someone to make one for me. The leather belt case with flashlight/multi tool combo would work for those items. Can't seem to email the owner. Any ideas? http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3170737&postcount=19

Phil Are you a biker by any chance??? That looks like something a biker would wear Or maybe a S&M person... Were you too embarrassed to link to there home page ??? Does the girl on the home page come with the belt??? I MIGHT just consider one, if so... Though she does look a BIT artificial up top, but in this case, I might just have to make an exception... You will have to excuse me... I have been cooped up in my office on the 10th floor since the Wed. before Rita struck... And I am getting a little 'cabin fevor'...Yea...That's it...

frenchy,
Sorry to hear that. Delivery on my Dix sheath was long in coming but he did do a great job of it. I know of many other leather workers who could do custom work like this but had never seen anyone other than Dix offering up ready made sheath work for the sort of items we like to carry.
I should edit my Urban Prep article about the Dix leather business.
