These radios are great, some have built in flashlights or detachable flashlights. Neat features are weather band or tv band freq.

A lot to choose from !

You definately want TV audio for news. Most (but not all) commercial radio stations no longer "do" news.

In my area after Katrina hit two "sister" Clear Channel stations (one Rock and the other Country) were among the best places for local news.. They also passed along to their listeners where to get food, water, ice, gas, etc. The area NPR station was good for national news, (although you needed to keep your political filter active).

Stay safe,

JimJr

In emergencies, many radio stations will provide the audio feed of CNN or their network affiliates. After 9/11, that was close to the only thing you could find on the radio around here for a little while.
