I need some help from Gerber folding saw owners. I recently picked one of these up at a great sale at REI.

I finally got around to opening it up today and was surprised at the amount of vertical play in the blade. I screwed in the retaining screw snugly, which helps, but it still seems to me that the blade should be rigidly held in the handle.

My thoughts: A blade that can shift up and down while sawing could lead to unpredictable blade movement. Unpredictable blade movement can lead to injury.

What is the scoop on the blade holding capabilities of your Gerber folding saws?

Thanks, TR
