I have some gear, but it's all over the place, and I have no backpacks to store any of it in, anyway.

What I'd like to do, given my seemingly endless lack of spare time, is purchase some good, "ready made" kits from a reputable web site and build from there. Nothing fancy, just solid. I'd like kits for bugging out and in.

There are now more disaster, preparedness, and emergency kit web vendors than you can shake a stick at. I can barely find time to clean the cat box, let alone figure out which vendor is cool and which isn't.

If anyone can recommend decent web sites, kits, and/or vendors, please do.

Emergency Essentials located at www.beprepared.com has some interesting stuff. There are some other similar sites, generally if you google "dehydrated" "freeze-dried" " foods you will be happily be spending your "spare" time cruising the internet for hours.

I can recommend Nitro-Pak. They've been in business around 20 years; I've ordered from them maybe a half-dozen times, going back to late-80s.

If you explore their website, you'll see a multitude of kits in various configurations. They've also got a checklist if you want to build-your-own custom kit through the website.
