I picked up the following lights:
River Rock 2AAA 1.5Watt LED
River Rock 2AA 1.5Watt LED
River Rock 2C 1.5Watt LED
Innova 2AA

The 2AA RR is basically all throw and has a perfectly round beam with a blue tint, like an Innova X1. It is made extremely well though, but I think it is a little too long at almost 7". The nice thing about it though is it looks like it could fit in a sheath designed for a mini maglight, though the fit will be tight. The innova is made out of plastic, but the beam is very nice. Extremely white and plenty of throw and spot, but a little dark right in the center. The body is designed not to roll if dropped, but it is made of plastic so I wouldn't drop it too often. The batteries do go in negative first on the Innova, which is kinda annoying, but I can live with it. Also, it has a lockout tailcap, which the RR lacks. All in all, Not bad lights for $20. Especially since they run on common AA batteries

The 2C RR flashlight is the same as the AA RR, but better proportions basically.

The best though is the 2AAA. It is smaller then most pen lights, but brighter then a 2AA maglight. It has a tailcap button for on/off and lockout tailcap. Definately a good buy!

From Walmart I picked up the Dorcy Tactical style black 3AAA LED light. It has good throw and spill, a good tailcap switch 9no lockout, but it is recessed), a good pocket clip, and is about the same length as my Surefire A2, but with thicker body (more Surefire 6P/G2 like). All in all not a bad light, if it used AA's it would be great.

Paul, you don't seem to have much support for WalMart lights. I have said on more than one occasion that the little Garrity key chain single LED for less than four dollars is comparable to any single LED I have seen. It is flat, smaller than a stick of gum and the LED is recessed. No, it doesn't turn green, or red, or flash Morse code or do any of those fancy things. It just puts out a very bright light which is all I require of a light. It is powered by a coin cell battery. It is definitely worth a look.It is packaged so that you can test it in the package. Take a look. It ain't fancy. Just a good, dependable light. And no, I don't have any WalMart stock or Garrity stock. <img src="/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

I've seen one of them. In fact just recently on a girls keychain in our dorm. I was suprised how bright it was. I didn't get to play around with it for too long, but it seemed to be nice.

I was just looking at that Garrity today. The keyring looked like it would break quite easily, but I've been thinking about giving it another look. Especially now since one of our esteemed forum members gives it a thumbs up <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

The Dorcy AAA from Wal-Mart is a good buy too (well under $10). It is a little on the large size, but has good brightness for a keychain light. The down side is that this is larger than the Garrity. The plus is that it uses standard and cheap AAA batteries. The Garrity is a much nicer size, but finding a replacement battery in an emergency could be a problem.

The spare battery problem could be resolved by just buying TWO Garritys, however mine has been going for months with no sign of dimming. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I've started EDC'ing a light ever since I got the Dorcy 1xAAA, recently I've been carrying the 1xAA. I like the thought of easy battery change, plus it's easy to find either an AA or AAA.

I wish the wallmarts around here would start carrying more of a selection of flashlights. I've been wanting that new Dorcy Metal Gear light ever since I've heard about it.

Cool. Thanks for the pictures. To paraphrase Will Rogers, I never met a flashlight I didn't like. I'll have to get a couple of those. I'm a sucker for lights.
