I just read the post maybe there's hope......it mentioned that their local store is running out of some items. I just had a flashback to something I "heard, read or saw". I can not remember where it comes from and obviously...use sense (it's not meant for an ie. German Shepard). If you have a pet that you need to 'cage' for transport.....take 2 laundry baskets. Place (somehow get) the pet into the bottom one. Invert the 2 nd basket and place it on top of the first one. Secure the two together (ie. cable ties, zip ties, rope etc.).

Hope this helps someone.

I don't even have a pet, and I think that's cool.

What I like most is how you take items that no one else is buying (laundy basket) and turn it in to something they are buying (pet carriers). Clever ideas like this let you walk into a store that's "almost out of everything" (it's not, just the obvious use items) and make what you need.

Hmmm... I smell a thread here...

Groo...Glad to see you too picked up on the fact that it made from stuff that other people are not rushing out to get....I too would be interested in hearing other ideas about items being used in ways not thought of before.

Hmnn, I have an idea for a cool pet carrier-- if you have a cat, you can store it inside of my dog.

(Sorry, couldn't resist!)

Not for very long use, but a sturdy pillowcase & a shoelace makes a great emergency cat carrier. Got multiple cats? Put each one in their own case & tie tops, then tie together in pairs & place around your neck or over your shoulders.

I had a cat named mouse. She was found in an empty grain sack and pillowcases were the only way she would travel for the next 18 years. I will ignore the anti cat comments. Doug might not be so forgiving

Now tell me, what did a feline ever do to rescue anybody?

To begin with a recent programme featured a cat who clawed a would be burglar severly in the face as he entered a window. Extraordinary? the cat has been blind from birth. The burglar was arrested at hospital with major facial injuries. Another male siamese confronted a serial rapist at his human's second story stairwell and inflicted wounds so serious the police followed a blood trail several blocks before apprehending the rapist. My own, fiercely loyal Piewacket literally had all 4 sets of claws sunk in my leg while biting and catterwalling without cause as I started to leave my apartment. A huge 200 year old oaktree came crashing down and took out the entire stairwell I was about to descend. Finally remember it was the deliberate extermination of cats as witche's familiars in europe that helped lead to a rat infestation with fleas bearing the Black Death
