I was at work yesterday ( music shop ) and i was cleaning up a storage room. on the ground i found a broken guitar wire that was coming unwravled. i thought to myself... maybe i could use this for snare wire. it seems strong but is fairly thin. i walked on over to the guitar sting section and found a whole assortment of strings, and at 4 dollars for a pack of strings ( fat ones for bass guitars) i thought it might just be cheaper than normal snare wire ( SS wire or someting like that right?) has anyone ever tried using guitar wire's for a snare?

Ron, are the strings marked with diameters? .025 is @ the fine size used for squirrel and rabbits. They should work, not only for snares but for improvised fishing leaders and general repair. The SAS pocket saw is merely 7 strands of twisted wire also.
