A couple of weeks ago I saw a picture on the net of Doug's PSP which included his recomended additions ie: key chain flashlight, water bag, water purification tablets etc - for the life of me I can't find the location of that picture - can anyone direct me to its whereabouts?

On the ETS Home page, on the left in the blue, under Sections there is a link to Survival Kits, and a link to Disaster Prep.
Have a look through those sections, you may find what you are looking for.

The main PSP web site is at http://www.equipped.org/psp/index.htm .

The discussion of add-ins is contained in a link on that same main page, down in the second have. It is the POCKET SURVIVAL PAK Bonus! Survival Information

While I've played around with lots of different kits, I've lately been simplifying them and now pretty much carry the recommended items from Doug's Bonus info.

I use a Ritter PSP into which I've slid:
<> a mini-Bic lighter,
<> a couple of Micropur tablets,
<> and Doug's Freedom light.

On top of that I carry:
<> either the fullsize Rittergrip or the mini,
<> a poncho or a Tacoma Mountain Rescue Storm Shelter (from REI.com) depending on the forecast/duration,
<> a 1 quart wide-mouth Nalgene bottle w/ water,
<> a hankerchief or bandanna,
<> a charged up cell phone,
<> a first aid kit (either a larger one if with a group, or a slightly supplimented Adventure Medical Kits Pocket Medic if just me).

I'll usually also carry a fullsize compass with a WindStorm whislte attached to the lanyard, a map of the area printed off my PC, a Leatherman Charge Ti, and a small bottle of DEET.

i too stumbled across the pic your looking for....if you need/want it.......i saved it, so drop me a msg. and ill email it to ya. Also a lot of people are always looking for the heavy duty thread and sewing needles as comes in doug's psp, well i found that gearaid.com (i havent checked the site yet) makes(made?) a small backpackers sewing kit that had everything and more in it. I come across it in a local outfitter store......... it was only 5 bucks-had a seam ripper. tons of buttons, needles, heavy awe sorta punch thing, safety pins and the elusive heavy thread everyone is always searching for-all in one cheap little kit........it comes in a neat little zip lock closure bag which could be easily expanded to make a mini psp. On a seperate note..........."0" silk nylons sutures are about of the same grade thread........which if you get your hands on some expired ones as i have they make cool cheap sewing repair kits(all n one)

Gearaid is AMK's line of equipment repair kits, oddly enough! MSRP for that kit is $9 and it is on the web various places for about $7. Looks like a nice sewing kit for the money.

Thanks Biggzie

I have found the picture - the route is:
"Disaster Prep" then:
"On Your Own" then:
"Doug's "Dont Leave Home Without it" Gear" then just below the picture containing the First Aid Kit et al:
"supplemented Adventure Medical Kits Pocket Survival Pak"
