I want to take the WEMT-P course over the next few months... Any recommendations on places, facilities, agencies, schools and what to expect? I would prefer something within 10 hrs drive of NYC. I don't like flying that much since I ain't got no wings.

I took one of the WMA wilderness emt courses through outward bound in the mid 80's. a Great class

U of pitt might offer something also.
