I'm having a hard time organizing stuff in my messenger bag. It seems that every time I need something in my bag, I need to dig through smaller pouches and water bottles to find my thing. I like the bag itself but i'm having a hard time organizing stuff in it. For example, I want to carry my Leatherman Fuse and Nuwai flashlight in it, but when I put it then in one of the smaller pocket, it makes an ungy "bump" that doesn't make the compartments neat at all. I think I need to go "vertical".

My organizer bag is pretty generic, it's a Samsonite with a flap that covers a few inner pockets for business cards. Next to the main compartment, there are full-length inner and outer sections. I don't like calling them "pockets" because the space you get in the pockets is a result of using "dividing" material (they are very narrow at the bottom).

Any thoughts on organizing a messenger bag? Maybe it's time for a Maxpedition MPB?

Well I had a similar problem with my backpack so I ended up getting a smaller bag (something like a travel bathroom supplies bag) and placed all the stuff in there. It is my survival module that can be transfered from place to place.

That's why I picked up a SpecOps Brand Pack-rat. Blackhawk seems to be making a clone. There are others.
