Spectra line is good, quite good. It is used for kite flying as well. It is very strong line for it's size.
It is not as good as Dacron IMO. Spectra line has a low melting point, and pulling knots in it will weaken it by at least 60%, unless you sleeve the knot ends first with Dacron.
It is hard to beat Dacron line. I keep 50 feet of 110 lb test in my PSK, wound up on a tongue depressor between a wrapping of duct tape and electrical tape.
Let me put it another way. When I am fishing for lunker sturgeon in the Columbia River or halibut along the BC coast, I will use Dacron over Spectra.
