I just bought some mini sharpies that can go on your key chain from Staples for $.99. The mini sharpies have been out for awhile now but this was the first time I saw them in black. I got 3 black and 3 assorted. These will free up some room in my pockets and Smaller kits.
I was wondering if anyone had found smaller versions of some common items most of us carry or should carry?

I just bought a handful of them too. One of the reasons I'm real intersted in these is that it seems a Sharpie will do a great job of writting on bright plastic survey ribbon, which I've included in my kit. I'm only mildly concerned about them freezing up in cold weather, since I'd suspect a few minutes in a warm pocket would get them working again.

I really like Cody Lundin's suggetion to use the ribbons to leave notes for searchers, but I know pencils wouldn't write on them well and suspect many pens won't either.

We saw those a while back but I never though of putting one in a kit. Post it makes some mini post it notes in a little black binder that holds some of those stick flags too, you can pull the post its out and carry them too.
Wife signed up on some sort of product sample list a few years ago, we get all kinds of mini products, I used those for kits and traveling, then when I buy the full size product I refill the mini bottels and keep them in the kits.
