I have the 3mm cord, tensile is 3200 lbs when using a static line it should be 15 x your weight, at 250 you would need 3750 although the 5mm cord holds 5000 lbs your only 550 over using the 3mm, and in an emergency situation... you make the choice, 3mm is designed for > 200 lbs

My main question about it, is the drop speed... With either cord, you will not be doing too much slowing down by holding the rope against your body, like we learned to do in ROTC...
That stuff is just too thin do hold on to, even WITH gloves... And without....

The figure 8 that came with it is not a normal figure 8 it has two protrusions on either side which allow you to make a couple of wraps in it as it wines through the figure 8 so there is much more friction to help control your rate of decent.
