Yes, I used one a couple of weeks ago on my trip in Ecuador, primarily for the alarm clock/radio feature. I could not find my regular travel alarm clock and noted that the CC could act as one. It does not have a buzzer feature, but the radio will turn on at the alarm time set. The only problem I had was when setting it up the night before, I would tune into a music radio station, for which reception was strong, but the station went off air and was still off the air when the alarm went off . It still worked, as the static was loud enough to wake me. I was able to tune in around 5 stations, pretty much where ever we were in Ecuador, of course, not speaking Spanish, does not help with trying to get news , but the music was great .
