I'm looking for a good way of attaching an ACR Signal Whistle to other gear. The lanyard/keyring hole provided for this to be accomplished is very narrow, straight, and a bit long (traversing the whistle through its width). Nothing I have except for a bit of aircraft cable will fit through it, and I don't like the way the cable is working with it. Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated. I am flummoxed (for the moment, anyway). -- Craig

Have you tried gutted para cord? Pass a loop of fishing line throught the hole in the whistel, put the gutted para cord through the loop, and pull it through. Or, 3mm accessory cord. Or, a drill.

I thought of that. That should work, but this whistle isn't new. Someone must have found a better way by now.

How about a thin leather or webbing fob with a grommet for the keyring?

It to me that these whistles: Whistle Use a Fastex snap ring. I would think if you used a Fastex snap ring with a “D” you could cut the “D” and get to slide into the holes of the whistle. D Ring or Snap Ring Pete

Use a small zip tie.
3mm accessory cord will work perfectly, too.
Also, if the current version is like mine, you'll note that one side has a small slot & indentation above the transverse lanyard hole. This is so you can thread the cord through the hole, tie a knot, then pull back & jam the knot into the niche both to hold the knot, & protect it.

Hmmm...that could work too. I'll give this some more thought. Thank you.

Craig, Get a good whistle, get a Fox 40 Mirco. It is the one in the Ritter PSP.

I have some cord, slightly thicker than what comes with it, that fits through the slit well. I attatch it to my neck knife sheath with a bit of inner tube, however.
