I work part time at a local park and have been playing around with whistles every summer for the past three years. I've noticed that younger people tend to respond more readily to the higher pitched whistles like the Fox 40 and that adults (age 25+) tend to resond better to seemingly lower pitched whistles like the Acme Tornado...

Well, now you have another use for your cotton-ball tinder. <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I have that one, actually. I have the kit! Isn't it called the Howler?

Anyway, I bought this other whistle because I was intrigued by its flat profile. Very pocket friendly.

It just doesn't seem to automatically slide onto one's keychain. <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Alright! A dog whistle for kids. If they are being bad just blow your Fox 40.

No joke! With all the messing around I've done with survival whistles, my daughter has adapted a kind of ongoing joke where when I blow a whistle, no matter where she is or what she is doing, she'll immediatly stop and come running to me in a pretend state of excitement (like a dog who thinks he'll get a treat).

Hey, whatever works to get their attention. <img src="/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

Heh. I'm starting to do use my Fox40 with my Dog! She's so well behaved that I don't use a leash on walks. I let her run in the woods as a reward at the end of a walk. She comes back when I call, but only if she can hear me. So I'm training her that the whistle means the same as "come", figuring that will penetrate further.

I should have thought of that, myself. Did I? No. Then again, that's why I come here. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
