While browsing CampMor I stumbled upon This Stove and was wondering if anyone had any opinions on it. It seems small, lightweight and has decent boiling times for the fuel(s) it accepts.

Thnx.

My buddy has one and likes pretty good. He tested his by cooking all his meals on it for several weeks. He had problems with his first one and found out that they had a bad batch of glue that made an unknown number of them leak fuel and flare during use. He managed to get one that was made after the bad batch and thinks it works good for his needs.
The reviewer who complained about the fuel left in the tank leaking out clearly did not read the directions that came with the stove. It tells how to very easily remove all fuel before storage.
I personally make my stoves out of Pepsi cans so I can’t see ever buying one of these but it is a nice little stove.

I am quite pleased with mine. Initially I had the flare up problem, but it was successfully corrected by sealing the bottom seam with JB Weld. Preheating was a problem when the stove was not completely filled (~ 1.5 oz.). It takes about 0.5 ounce of alcohol to boil a 10 ounce cup of water (Lid and windscreen). To preheat with less than a full stove I place a BB or pebble over the center (fill) hole so that more alcohol is retained in the center. A bottle cap containing a little alcohol may be placed beneath the Triad to preheat it as well. I am more comfortable with the strength of the Triad verses my Pepsi can version, and it only weighs 1 ounce (vs 0.5 oz. for the Pepsi can). Great little stove IMHO.
