Acquired some new items and wanted to share.

Best Find --
Just found these Iodine and antiseptic swabs. The have the active ingredients inside the clear shaft of the swab (I laid one above each case, on the rule). Got them from the local Giant Eagle (grocey), haven't even see them at CVS or Walgreens yet. Actually, came in an introductory set; of one case of 36 and another case of 12, for each the Antiseptic and Iodine. As often as my children seem to get scrapes and cuts, I''m expecting they will really come in handy and a neat storage package too.

Good find --
Found a new small ( approx 4 W x 6.5 H x 2.5 D) case. Includes two inner sections and 2 fabric loops (pen holders) inside, two outside holders (approx. mini mag or ARC AAA size), mesh front pocket and laces. Also has both a belt loop and a belt clip, in addition to the ring with the carabiner attached, for under $7 at Home Depot. Made by Husky, seems fairly sturdy.

And finally a cheap flashlight, but it doesn't need batteries (induction coil ?) -- just shake to use. Says 30 minutes light per 20 seconds of shaking ( the light that is <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> ). Ought to be fine for use around the house/car, if not rugged enough for outdoor use. Running a timed test now and it's benn running over one hour at a reasonable brightness level, IMHO. Got it a few weeks ago, can't recall where (WallyWorld i think), but about $12 IIRC.

Do the swabs have an expiration date and if so how long is it.

I know that swabs that TadGear sells (anitspetic and antiich) had a 3 year exxpiration date.

Contained iodine swabs are really cool idea. I may need to get some.

No guarantee that you'll find them at the retailers listed, but here's SwabPlus's where-to-buy webpage.

I had not seen that case at Home Depot, but I bought the same case without the Husky name for $2 at Family Dollar.
Probably not made quite as well for $2, but works pretty well for the price.
