It takes a lot more discipline and thought to REMOVE an item from your kit than to add one. Carrying emergency gear is a compromise of what is probable vs what is possible.

I have always been more impressed with small, well designed gear as opposed to a 65# backpack. Really, who here couldn't design a SK with an unlimited budget and 65# weight limit? <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

What you will carry is much more important than what you should carry.
