I have the trangia big mess tin with the lid - but it has no handles. I use it for a larger PSK I keep in my car. I've seen the smaller one in the store, the one with the handle, and it seems like a good sized container for a medium sized PSK. Both do not come with any stove, but you could pack lots of goodies and items in them.
Thankfully, Trangia sets are easily available outside the USA.
If you're really stuck and need a set I could help ship one over to you. I'll have to check the shipping cost though. The large mess tin costs about S$15 = US$8.33 and the small one costs about S$11 = US$6.11.

Andy, I just got the tins yesterday. I'm on duty from tonight until Monday, so I'll have the specifics for you Tuesday.

Peanut

Andy,

Sorry it's taken me a few days, but duty called. Here goes.

The larger tin is 7 1/8 in. long, minus the handle and attachment, by 5 5/16 in. wide by 2 1/4 in. deep. The handle folds over the top and protrudes 6 3/8 in. extended. The weight of the tin at the end of the handle keeps it in place, but is a bit ungainly, like any pot, when full. Capacity is approximately 1.4 liters, and it weighs about 7 1/2 oz.

The smaller tin is 6 7/16 in. long, again without handle. It's 4 7/8 in. wide and 2 3/16 in. deep. The hamdle and attaghment are identical to the larger tin. Approximate capacity is .95 liter and it weighs about 6 3/4 oz.

When nested, with handles folded over, the kit is 7 1/2 in. long by 5 5/16 in. wide by 2 11/16 in. deep, and weighs about 14 1/4 oz.

It seems pretty well made and durable.

I got it off Ebay from a user named QuartermasterUK for a total cost, including shipping, of about $6.30. I think he may have another if you're interested. It took about 8 days to get here from the UK.

I hope this helps.

Peanut

P.S. Does anyone else's wife shake their head and roll their eyes when you start measuing and weighing, or doing anything else with your "toys", muttering something about "there he goes again"?

Muchos Gracias!
Collecting PSK tins has become a hobby of mine! Somehow this makes me strange in my wife's eye but collecting Pyrex bakeware (her obsession) is perfectly normal....
