... even if it makes people look at you ... with ... puzzlement (?) on their face.

Last week, I had the occasion to use one multi-purpose item of my PSK - the famous trash bag/shelter/improvised poncho, etc..- during a "social" occasion :
after work, a foot-ball (soccer) match was organised with some co-workers.
And after the match, it was time for a few drinks, peanuts etc....
Who had to clean the mess, all those empty cans, bottles, packs... ? I did ...
So I used my trash bag as a ... trash bag... it is after all what it is made for ...

And once home, I immediatly put a new one in my PSK.

It's a nice feeling to know you can take care of what you are facing with out having to wonder where you are going to get what you need!

My brothers, who are also my pheasant hunting partners, always razz me about my preparedness ... and that was before I found ETS!

Of course, these are the same 2 guys who every now and then forget their dog leashes, dog whistles or need an aspirin. Naturally, they aren't shy about accepting spares from baby brother's pheasant hunting bag.

Two of the best moments came from a trip in which
(a) Eldest brother stepped in the dog doo as we approached the truck -- his truck, at that. He was amazed when, at the truck, I handed him a large "butter" knife from my bag that I'd stashed there expressly for boot-cleaning purposes.
(b) A moment later, same brother said he'd forgotten a towel for his dog and i handed him the towel from by bag. He remarked, "This looks like one from an old set that Lori and I used to have." I responded, "It should, it came from your garage."

After the laughs, I reminded him that he'd invited me to take a couple old towels for truck & hunting carry.

We have a lot of laughs while hunting together. And, yes, we often do have pheasant for dinner.

Cheers.

Why do I have this impressionist vision of Alain bent over picking up trash in thick, rich colours with angry crows overhead a la The Wheatfield I've got to cut back on the Armanac

Amongst my other junk in my truck, I keep a supply of plastic WalMart bags under the seat. In emergencys such as you describe, I just "double bag" each foot and tie the bags using the "handles". Then do the clean up job when you get home. Works great too after a winching operation when you are covered with mud. Also handy here in the river bottoms to pick up pecans, hickory nuts and walnuts when you run up on them.

Or when you go to the really cheap grocery store that doesn't have bags unless you pay extra for them.

And anyone who owns or takes care of a dog will know what those Wally Word bags come in handy for.
