Did you watch the Tonight Show on Tuesday. I saw it after going to my son's Blue and Gold dinner. Jay Leno interviewed Vice President Dick Cheney. A recurrent theme was the spiriting away of the Vice President to "an undisclosed location" for security reasons after the the terrorists' attacks.

Jay asked the Vice President if he'd been able to have any fun on any of those occasions. Vice President Cheney said that since he was an avid bird hunter, on several occasions when he was in secure "undisclosed locations," he was actually hunting ducks, pheasants, and quail.

So even if only for a brief interlude, again, God is in his heaven, and all is right with the world.

John

P.S. Doug/Chris, If I've transgressed on the proscription of things political, please do not hesitate to delete.

I voted for Nader. The minute Bush and Cheney were sworn in they became my president and vice president. I consider the Oath I took on enlisting to be still binding.

Chris,

Good man! Although you had probably left the service before I enlisted for the first time (not to make you feel old, sometimes I think I may be the youngest person on the forum), I know exactly what you mean. I too, voted for someone else (nevermind who--it wasn't Al Gore).

Not too long ago, on a drill weekend (I was in uniform) someone asked me if I supported the President. I pointed out that the President was the Commander in Chief, that I was not hunting, but in an actual uniform and that they should do the math. This after I was accused of being unpatriotic---because I didn't have a flag sticker on my car.

Andy
