Electrolyte replacement drinks have one caveat. Like everything else people think if the direction quantities are good 20 times more is better. This is how people blow houses up with 24 flea bombs. Excess consumption of electrolytes can prevent the chelation of other vital nutrients. This isn't much of a problem in a survival scenario, but I've watched horse and human athletes go down this way.

I think i`ll add some Tang to my kit(s) as it's a nice flavor to add to water and to get the flavor you aren't adding electrolytes that "may" harm you, and it provides Vit. C.

It's the vitamen C that counters the iodine taste.
WARNING!
Be sure to wait the prescribed waiting period, 30-60 minutes depending on temp and cloudiness, or the iodine will react with the Tang and not the nasties you want to kill.
