I just finished replenishing my EDC.

From the comments on the Forum over the years, I, like many of you, have been ridiculed for carrying an EDC by friends and even family. However there comes a time of payback. Recently three sophisticated ladies, my wife included, went on a short outing and luncheon. A day later, “Dressed to the Nines,” nowhere near a store but at a Rest Stop and much to their embarrassment, panic struck.

My wife approached me and asked if I had an anti-diarrhea for three people. Even though I had my large First Aid Kit packed in the back, I said “Let me check my EDC.” I had just enough for three initial doses of Loparmide Hydrochloride, Imodium A-D. The Imodium A-D in the EDC were nearing their expiration date and needed to be replaced, was my initial reason for using the ones from the EDC but they did not have to know that.

From that moment, I know at least from those three ladies, I will never be ridiculed again!

I also changed my EDC from six individually sealed 2 mg tablets to ten 2 mg tablets stored in the small Teflon capped bottle. I could have gone with them to the same restaurant! The Teflon bottles were the ones that this forum turn me on to a few years ago.

Tell me more about these small teflon capped bottles. I can't find anything like that by searching the forum.

I bought my ten bottles from Exploration Products. www.epcamps.com

See the following link:
http://www.equipped.org/parepack.htm

As Doug said they are not listed in their catalog you must ask for them via phone, email, or FAX

Good thing you didn't eat lunch with them! Sounds like a restaurant to avoid...

I like your idea of EDC'ing Immodium. Time to add that to my kits. Never know when Montezuma's Revenge is gonna strike!

I bought my little bottles from http://www.goldendetectors.com/ They don't have items listed on their website, but they are some kind of affiliate of these guys: http://www.lifestylestore.com/ls_vials&goodies.html where you can order online. Golden is just a bit from my house, so I drove there instead of ordering online.

The vials they sell are not teflon capped, at least I didn't see any that were. But they have both glass and plastic in all kinds of sizes. Lots of other cool stuff as well - magnifying glasses, magnets, etc.

Epcamps now has the vials on their website.

haertig,

The primary consideration for using vials with teflon lined caps is the caustic nature of potable aqua. Nasty stuff.

Understood. I was initially looking for teflon coated. However, not being able to find them at what I considered a reasonable cost (including shipping charges), I gave up and decided I didn't really need repackaged H20 tablets in my pocket kit. Instead I now throw the entire (unopened) original bottle of tablets in my larger kit (Nalgene bottle based) that sits inside my daypack. My daypack is with me 99% of the time I'm outdoors, and for that 1% of the time when I might have only my pocket kit I'll just have to resort to boiling.

And those cute little non-teflon bottles I bought? I guess I could try making cap inserts out of teflon plumber's tape. Or I'll find something else to do with them. Right now they're mostly just sitting there lined up on a table so I can periodically walk by and admire their cuteness! <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

10-4. Just wanted to make sure that your wouldn't find a knife or ferrocium rod turned to dust. <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> There's also a ton of other readers and lurkers out there.

I also think that when great container quest of 2001 was going on, there weren't better alternatives to potable aqua for a mini psk. Nowadays, I'll take katadyn Mp-1's any day. <img src="/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

I bought a ton of those about a year ago at a perfume shop. It was one of those places were you blend it yourself. I got them with no intended purpose. I do not know if mine are Teflon kind. How would I know if they are the Teflon kind?
P.S. What is the point of the Teflon?

They should have a liner inside the lid. I think Doug has some pictures on ETS.
