Here is an idea of how I've layered my kits (left to right):

First is the Altoids tin.
Next is a small AMK zippered pouch.
Then a larger kit in a "Lock & Lock" container (thanks to seeing a post here on ETS).
Lastly my trunk kit.

The Altoids kit is daily carry (along with a mini Fox 40, Photon III, cell phone, and folder/Leatherman), the AMK pouch goes in my backpack, the Lock & Lock kit sits in my cupboard next to the survival water and food, and the trunk kit, well, goes in the car trunk.

I'm curious to hear how others are layering their kits, it looks like this is my 'take-everything-apart-and-put-it-back-together-for-fun' week. <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

This looks like a good layering approach. Could you post picts or descirption of what's in at least your first two layers?

EDC/PSK
Small "lights out" kit at work
BOB & FAK in all Vehicles, Trauma bag in mine also.
Well stocked home & pantry
Stuff for the "Big One" Water, food, FAK, tools, gas
BOBs outside the house in case we lose the houe. Includes change of clothes and shoes.
A plan.

Sure!

*The Altoids tin kit is pretty close to what Doug has shown here on ETS, minus the Spark Lite and tinder (replaced with a mini BiC lighter).

*The AMK zippered pouch is somewhat close to Doug's commercial PSK, but slightly larger. I have a Silva wristband compass, Fox 40 whistle, cable/zip ties, fresnel magnifying glass, Photon II, waterproof paper, golf pencil, Gerber water bag, MP-1 water purification tablets, aluminum foil, 2'x3' signal mirror, Spark Lite with tinder, Nato match vial, and a tiny first aid kit.

*The Lock & Lock container is essentially a duplicate version of my AMK zippered pouch kit. The main difference being the addition of a pair of gloves, two red light sticks, a mini AA Mag-Lite, extra AA batteries and bulbs, P38 can opener, two-blade Camillus folding pocketknife, and an emergency poncho.

*The orange Trunk Kit already has a posting on here with pictures I uploaded a week or so ago:
