Looks bad for Gulf Shores AL.....again <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
Good luck for anyone down there.
We were supposed to go down there in a couple of weeks for vacation. Guess it is time for plan "B"
The only thing that bothers me when I see the power and destruction of a hurricane is a irrational desire NOT to bug out, but to stay and "test" all the preps I would have done. My wife thinks I am crazy.
Yes! I grew up along the Gulf Coast and had a number of storms come ashore while I was there. We were lucky and never had the eye bear directly down on us but even being sideswiped by a hurricane tends to get your attention. Common sense should dictate if you leave or not depending on where you are at in relation to the storm and what kind of shelter your building of choice will offer. We always sheltered in place but that like every thing else was completely decided on circumstances at the given time.

Duck, I was lucky when I lived on Cape Cod, we never had much in the way of hurricane's hit. A couple of tropical storms, but scary impressive enough for me.
A class four 'cane is a tornado that suffers from meglomania. You can't arguee with it, you can't pay it off, you can't scare it away; you can get out of it's way.
I'm inclined to agree with the assessment that if you can get out of the way...get out of the way. I see most of the responses came from us in Florida, no surprise there seeing as how we are in for it again this season.
