Your peers had a interesting pursuit in L.A. county tonight! A man was reported DUI on the freeway in a brand new buick. CHP units began a pursuit. Speeds were never over 70 MPH ( how did they avoid the soccer moms in SUVS@ 90MPH?) The driver drove onto a berm and launched himself OFF and onto a private home, landing on the roof. Nobody was home, and it turns out the driver was diabetic and suffering insulin shock.

70mph??? A low speed pursuit huh??? I had one on I-5 in the wilds of Fresno county one graveyard shift, stolen car, never got above 35 mph, in a huge cloud of black smoke. Ford Falcon as I recall. The thing was so wide it covered both of the traffic lanes, so whenever we got about a thousand vehicles backed up behind us we'd pull over for a minute to let them pass, then do it again.
