I had to fix a bus, once. I was seated next to the window in the last row of seats which is elevated a bit higher than the other rows. When the bus turned the corner, the top-hinged window swung open and I almost fell out of the bus! Since the latch was broken and wouldn't engage, I pulled out my business card wrapped in duct tape and proceeded to fasten the window closed. Yeah, I got some odd looks from the other passengers - but the window stayed closed for the rest of the ride.
