You discovered a classic. The Opinel has been made in that same basic pattern for over 100 years. Opinel is from France and I have seen their knives with various "brands" stamped on them like the Coghlan stamp. You can get them in either carbon steel or stainless. Some have the locking blade and some of the smaller ones do not.
