An excellent thread not unlike a few I have seen here in the past. I might even have to add my 2 cents to that one.

An excellent thread made unique by virtue of the fact that his company is giving their employees these kits. This company is on the ball. I am loving that thread.

I myself have tried to lead my coworkers by example. The only thing they've learned is, I carry everything they may need, so now they carry even less than usual, which was nothing much to begin with.

Sigh. I give up on the whole education thing. I think about preparing for the unthinkable every day.

Others, including members of my immediate family, not to mention coworkers, don't want to hear about it or talk about it in a serious manner. They give me and anyone else in the immediate area that bemused, "There Goes Craig Again" look.

I've learned my lesson. I keep my trap shut these days, and the flap on my shoulder bag stays closed.

I hear ya... I gave up on educating a long time ago. As a matter of fact I keep a very low profile about even what I am carrying.

I agree, better to keep a very low profile -- otherwise you are typecast as one of those 'survivalist nuts' and pretty soon, people are looking at you like you are Timothy McVeigh

Me too. I once said, I'm doing this because of 9/11. I want to be better prepared.

The person responded, "That was when the planes got flown into those buildings, right? Wasn't that in New York City?"

Believe it. I'm not making this up. Four years later and memories are already hazy and fogged over. Shameful, really.

Give them a wicked smile, and pat your rib-cage on the left side with your right hand, just under the left arm, casually saying "just checking"... it'll scare the daylights out of them

I'm the Joseywales that started taht thread. The funning thing is, other than them issuing this basic survival kit, I find this company very hard to work for.

Craig, Collegeville huh? Does LPRGC meaning anything to you?
