Its been a long while since I've been here, but I was checking up on the forum, and I didn't find this in a search, so I thought I'd add it. It seems neat, and maybe a bit much for a kit, but I think it would be a nice add on to the usual sewing kits carried here.

I heard about this awhile ago, and want to buy one for my wife. I have been unable to find a US distributor of it. Anybody know where to get one?

Try emailing Tim (fveap@earthlink.net). He is a SAK dealer, and a great guy. I met him over on Knifeforums. The profits of his SAK sales actually go to his non-profit organization. You can go to his website if you would like to know more. Just let him know I sent you.

I like the idea of this kit.

I know a few of my fairer friends would love one of these.

Thanks for the heads up.

There certainly is a unique and innovative collection of tools on this particular SAK, but the marketing on the webpage and comments here make me feel like I slipped into a time warp back to 1905!

"?It?s unfair, if you think about it. Men have their army pocket knives, but what is there for women?? "

"I heard about this awhile ago, and want to buy one for my wife."

C'mon! Are women the only ones who can do emergency sewing repairs on equipment and critical clothing in a survival situation? I would have thought that this forum of all places would have had a more objective assessment of the functionality of this type of tool. Don't forget to include a woman in your EDC to do your survival cooking and cleaning too, then.

Try your local quilting stores. It's hard to find, but they are out there. There are 2 models, the large one is around $100 and the smaller $30.00, if I remember correctly.

My comment :"I know a few of my fairer friends would love one of these." address's two of my friends who would be pleased to have these as gifts and not necessarily emergency or survival related. I take your point but personally if I could sew worth a damn I wouldn't carry as much duct tape as I do <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Maybe this "gift" will give the incentive for my friends to teach me a few basics.
