Nice kits but, more importantly, I've always heard that "turned around" quote attributed to Daniel Boone, not Jim Bridger. Anyone know for sure? Maybe it's just a geographical thing attributed to the more local hero.

I got a M. E. News book (The Backcountry Handbook) back in the '80's that had those exact same 4 kits in it so those prices are way out of date.

If you notice at the top of the article, it is dated July 1985. So yes, the prices are probably stale.

These general purpose kits would work, but what are they for?
A car in the winter? A two week canoe trip? Hiking in the rockies? A 2 hour Alaskan bush flight? A student semester in Africia?

Each situation require some fore thought and fine tuning...and an understanding of the situation.
