If you have trouble reading the regular compass then I would certainly say it's worth it. It will be just as accurate if calibrated properly, and since you can calibrate it yourself I am sure it will be accurate. Obviously in a kit you dont want to have to rely soley on electonic devices like this with out a good ole fashion regular eye straining compass for backup... but then I am telling you stuff you already know now. Yes I think it would benefit you. No need in straining your eyes.
