Is there a trick to polishing an Altoids tin? Or is it just sandpaper and elbow grease? This is my first attempt at making a PSK. I'm a new user and have been browsing the forum for awhile. Great info, guys!

I doubt sandpaper would do much good, unless you become obsessive about it and use finer
and finer grits. The inside of a tin is already pretty smooth, so you'd probably want to start with
a polishing compound. Can't recommend one, but if I were going to try this, I'd go to
<insert favorite home improvement store> and get whatever they had. Doing this by hand
probably won't be much fun, so I'd use a polishing wheel on a Dremel. If you don't have one of
those, this is a great excuse to buy one. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Well, duh, maybe I should have searched the forum a little harder before I asked this question! Thanks for the nudge in the right direction, that was a great thread. I'm off to find some brake fluid!

Why don't you just "borrow" some brake fluid from the master cylinder of someone you don't care much for?

Sandpaper and elbow greese unles you happen to own a dremml. Autozone has some 2000 grit paper what will give you a usable shine for sure. A dremml does the same thing but in a fraction of the time. <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for the welcome! And the info. I ended up using a fine grit sandpaper, which really was the quickest and easiest way, but required a bit more elbow grease than I would have liked. The result is really quite good.
