Shirley still goes fast, was at the Gatornationals couple of years ago and got this shot. Her crew now has a more fashionable pink and black ensemble now.

The Miss Army Knife looks kinda cute. If I had confidence in its quality and size I'd be tempted. My own EDC includes flashlight, 2 nail files, scissors, safety pins and tweezers. I have needle, thread, and mirror in my PSK. I don't carry perfume, but then they don't supply that either. I expect the pill box will take a fire kit, and the secret compartment will take a compass and some other items.

Well, when I used to regularly wear suits to the office, in addition to pocket knife, FAK, and similar "burly" stuff, my EDC used to include [small voice]clear nail polish[/small voice] for emergency repairs of stocking runs. Fortunately, my current job permits "office casual" garb, so I've been able to remove the nail polish from my EDC!

That's okay, Helen! One of the guys here said he waterproofs wooden matches by coating them with a thin layer of clear nail polish. I've tried it, and it works great -- Better than wax!

I wonder if it's possible to ignite a small bit of (fresh) clear nail polish with a spark lite or firesteel... That stuff's flammable when "wet", isn't it?

Groo, Hmm let?s see now! *rummages through GF?s ?stuff*
Product?Avon Nailware nail enamel (polish) in a 12 mL (.4 fl oz) glass bottle with an applicator brush.
Contents?Ethyl Acetate, Butyl Acetate, Isopropyl Alcohol as the first three ingredients and a list of other hard to pronounce names.
Test?well, okay, this sounds flammable, but I have no sparker, so I tried the usual methods of trying to light this stuff on fire. A small drop catches fire quickly and burns almost completely away. Flame is very blue until the fire goes completely out.
Conclusion?yes, it is very flammable, but is it worth carrying for such a use?
Take care,

Conclusion?yes, it is very flammable, but is it worth carrying for such a use? No, I don't think so. For me anyway. But if someone is already carrying it, and it'll ignite with just a spark, it might help get a fire going if conditions are unfavorable. But it might also be the case that it won't go up with just a spark, at least not in small quantities. Further testing is indicated.

Hey remember the "B.O.B. for my mom. $ is no object" thread a few pages ago. Well at least someone IS trying to get the mom's out there a little more motivated, even if the pink lunch box does include a "box of chocolates"! Great idea in my opinion. At least it's a start.
Any entrepreneurs out there willing to take the challenge of building a better PSK for our mothers? Mother' s Day is right around the corner!!
