This was a pretty interesting movie, that premeired tonight. It will probably be replayed again and again on this channel. Fun to watch, but it's difficult to imagine how to survive a scenerio like this. Or even to imagine if you'd really want to.

Yeah, I thought this was actually pretty well done--for a change! And had good data behind it overall.
DONT want to see this happen!!! <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I felt that it was alittle far fetched, but to me it seemed just too much like "The Day After Tomorrow" meets "Dante's Peak" with poor movie effects and more computer animations.

i think i may have mentioned it before here, but on national geographic channel they did a show called super volcano also it was 1 hour and basically covered what would happen if yellowstone or other places went off.

it was pretty interesting and is rerun semi often.

A Lesser Known but still Major Danger involving Volcanoes, -Pyroclastic Flows! Its like a Blowtorch, and a Mega Sized, High Speed Cascade!, -of a Hot Gases / Dust Mixture!"

Its "sort of" a combination of being caught in a Suddenly Flooded Western Arroyo, -and being caught in an Ascending Forest Fire "Upblow". As go the relevant similarities. "Havn't a Prayer!, / Don't Want to be There!", -as commonly concerns all three!

A good number of Other, Lesser Known volcanic hazards exist as well, -besides obvious, well known Lava Flows!

Be those Sulfuric and other Deadly Gases, Quakes, Landslides and Mudflows, Finding yourself under an "Artillery Barrage of Lava Boulders and Bombs, Getting Buried in an Ashfall, a Blackout equivalent of the Polar Whiteout, -Among still Others.

And speaking of classic Lava Outbursts and Flows, -I'm reminded of the recent commercial for an insurance company, -where a Vulcanologist is seen to comment, (I now paraphrase), -"Don't let one of them *Surround you!*"!!!

I realize that many of you are more or less familiar with these often Lesser Known Volcanic Hazards. But for the benefit of those of you *Not* so familiar in this area, -I give these mentions. [color:"black"] haertig
