At the Temple Ambler campus here in the Philadelphia surburbs, I've enrolled in a survival course.

It is called "Wilderness Survival: The Skill to Survive." It will span five consecutive Tuesdays, beginning tonight, from 7:30 to 9:30 PM. I am leaving my preconceived notions at the door, and entering with an open mind.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Good luck! Please give us a detailed review when you're finished. Even though I don't live near Philadelphia, I'm curious to know.

I'll do my best.

I'm no outdoorsperson by any means, but I like being prepared. My younger sister (she's 32) likes to say I do an excellent impression of someone who actually leaves the house!

So I'm a homebody. What can I say? <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

The guy who is teaching it, Bob Collins, is actually listed on this website at
http://www.equipped.org/srvschol.htm . Just scroll down a bit to "Earth Star Survival"

We learned to get some bearings on a compass last night.

We have all of four people in the class! I think I've got at least 10 years on the other guys. No women. The only woman enrolled dropped the course yesterday. <img src="/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
